Stopped by Fitzroy on the Downtown Mall and really enjoyed the vibe-modern decor with a historic feel and a nice mix of lighting that made it cozy without being too loud. The food was mostly great, especially the steak frites cooked perfectly medium rare and the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries that hit the spot, though the avocado and poutine didn't quite do it for me. Service was solid and accommodating whether you're solo or in a group, and the cocktail list is creative with some standout options like the Pear Mule and a great house tonic with Hendrick's.

I recently dined at the Fitzroy and had a pleasant experience. Despite the busy time, we were quickly seated at the bar and the service was efficient. I particularly enjoyed the flavorful dishes, such as the steak frites and the perfectly cooked salmon with mashed sweet potatoes. The staff was knowledgeable and the ambiance was modern and upscale, making it a great dining choice for those looking for a delicious meal in a stylish setting.
