Drove past El Fenix a bunch of times before finally checking it out. It was super busy on a Friday night but we got seated right away. The atmosphere was lively and the decor was fun, but the chips and salsa were just okay - loved the homemade chips, but the salad was too tomato-heavy without enough kick. Tried the smoked brisket nachos first, which had great flavor and were a hit. The El Fenix special was decent Tex-Mex, but nothing too special - plenty more on the menu we want to try out. Overall, it was a fun night with good cocktails. The tortilla soup was excellent, but the carne asada wasn't the best, so it's a solid 4-star spot with fair prices.
