We enjoyed a late lunch where I ordered grilled chicken with yellow rice and a salad with avocado; the chicken was well-seasoned and the red rice had a unique pilaf-like flavor different from typical Mexican rice. The chips were excellent, the salsa could use a bit more heat, and the overall experience, including the friendly service and generous portions, made me eager to return.

We recently enjoyed a delicious meal at this local Mexican restaurant. The grilled chicken with yellow rice and avocado salad was a standout dish. The red rice had a unique Pilaf-like flavor, and the chips were perfectly crispy. Overall, a great spot for authentic Mexican cuisine that I will definitely revisit.

Every time I go to The Matalan -- it is a real treat made of excellent food and service! The decor is very attractive in bright colors. I particularly like the large paintings. Whatever food I order is my new favorite! In fact now that I m thinking about it, I'm going to go right now!
