My wife and I were driving on Rt. 23 today and were discussing on where to eat. We decided on "The Peking House" and were NOT disappointed. Neither of us had ever eaten here. The restaurant was clean and surprisingly large. Our waitress was great, very friendly and informative with her recommendations. The egg drop soup was very good, nice consistency and suttle taste. For appetizers we had scallion pancakes, crab rangoon, mini dumplings and beef on stick. All the apps were very good along with their sauces. I'm not a dumpling fan, but ordered based on the waitress recommendation. They were extremly good!!. For dinner I ordered beef lo mein, sesame shrimp, chicken & lettuce wraps, beef w/ broccoli, volcano beef and vegetable / shiitake mushrooms. I enjoyed each entree and if you like very spicy foods try the volcano beef or chicken, it was awesome. I have to tell you that this is a very, very good chinese restaurant. I'm really not a buffet type, but would be willing to try. Overall this place will be your new favorite chinese restaurant. The waitress even overheard my wife saying she wanted to know if she could purchase the saki set she was using. The waitress returned later with a different saki set and gave it to my wife. She also overheard that it was my wife's birthday. She even wrapped it up with napkins, very thought ful and family like. Everyone has their opinion on their own taste, eat here and you won't be disappointed. You can't please everyone and will not be perfect but I can tell that you all try. Very good job tonight on making our first impression count and gained a new customer that knows how far referrals go.

I am really happy with Peking House and really don't understand the negative comments. We've eaten at Mizukis and would rather eat at Yuki Hana better quality sushi and service.

Anyhow, Peking House is excellent and the customer service wonderful. I was sick yesterday and ordered takeout which was delivered by very friendly staff. I have been to a few other Asian take-outs in the Butler area and so far am impressed by the authenticity, good value and great customer service. We are sticking with them!

This is one of the best place to eat Chinese Food and Seafood. They always keep everything fresh and clean. I guess this is why they've been successful for 30 years and still going. I disagree with previous reviews I go every week for have the seafood and prime rib buffet and honestly I just go for the shrimp cocktails, crab legs, oysters and roast prime rib. Their prime rib is even better to any lavish wedding receptions the au jus for the prime rib is delicious!!! "Not Duck Sauce" and the Shrimp Cocktail sauce is homemade "Not marinara sauce." Anyhow people have their own taste buds I think this is the best place I've been and highly recommend their service is impeccable very family style orientated!!!

Well my lady and I often went to Peking House for takeout, and the lo mein menu was often very good.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the buffet; our experience there was terrible. But before that, allow me to point the highlights.

First off, the Lo mein, chicken, and bubble tea was lovely. The lo mein was well seasoned, the chicken sweet, and the bubble tea was refreshing, albeit rather inconsistent.

Thats where the good points end Im afraid. For the seafood crablegs and shrimp as well as the marinara sauce, were lackluster to be gentle. The marinara sauce tasted as though it was mixed with dishwasher water. The seafood crab-legs was bland, even with the butter, and also tasted like it was washed..and not to be eaten. The waitress offered us prime rib, hoping to catch our attention, however, the presentation was poor, and the taste even poorer. Unattractive untrimmed fat, and a rib that I would easily pass up for the Burger King next door. Prime rib swimming in duck sauce? Umm...na.

That I could forgive. Now heres where I go "No. Never again."
The waitress offered us fried calamari, neglecting to inform us its made with soy or specific oil. I ate it, and it was great!....up until I suffered from an allergic reaction. Now while that maaaaaaay be my fault for not asking, one would think the waitress would show concern.

This was her idea of her concern; "Just pat the itching. Same thing happened to me! My ankles swelled up and everything! Youll be fiiiine!"

Great customer service young lady. Oh and by the way? Nothing is less appetizing than hearing about swollen ankles...well maybe except eating that prime rib. Now Im not saying she was rude. Just uh...well maybe you could pretend to give a damn that someone is rashing up like someone with chicken pox.

All in all? Were not going back. Ever. Sorry Peking House staff, you guys are friendly and all, but some changes need to be made. Until then, Mizukis in Main Street Butler, HERE WE COME!
