XMas Eve dinner reservation review. It all started when I called the restaurant 5 hours before my reservation simply asking to ensure not being seated alongside the windows or doorway as a family member has medical issues and will be very uncomfortable with a cold draft. Had to repeat this many times to the point of saying it would be a shame turning around if there’s a problem & we can’t stay. Hostess was not concerned & just said she’ll see what she can do. So where do we get seated (party of 3): alongside the window. I had to speak to who I think was the front of the house manager while the hostess got snippy with me “we’re working on it” when I explained the problem. Eventually we were moved to a different table. Patrons had their coats & hats on— it was freezing (worse by the windows). Multiple requests were made to turn the heat on which were IGNORED.

The food: bread- cold in the middle & was obviously reheating frozen bread. Complained about this & no attempt to reheat. No butter just oil. One entree was good; the others AWFUL. Pasta with clams saturated in salt & inedible. Remade but barely improved. I didn’t request salt for dinner- absolutely gross. Lobster soup was a dark red-brown color & served cold. Sent back and requested a side of spaghetti with red sauce. A box of grocery store pasta with Campbells soup would’ve been better.

Eventually someone else took over serving the table (maybe the waiter complained, who knows). The manager who kept checking on other tables never once came to mine. No apologies, completely discredited & for this they request a credit card hold.

I used to enjoy this restaurant but haven’t been there in about 2 years & obviously went downhill. So if you are ok with sht food & rude staff in a freezing restaurant come to Serena’s.
