Being from St. Louis, I appreciate how this restaurant captures the authentic St. Louis-style Chinese food experience with dishes like dark fried rice with extra egg and gravy, St. Paul sandwiches, and Vess soda, all delivered with excellent customer service. Although the building could use some work and it is takeout only, the flavors remind me of home and make the drive worthwhile, especially since finding genuine St. Louis Chinese food in Atlanta is quite rare.

Growing up in St. Louis, I have a specific way of ordering my rice - shrimp fried dark, extra eggs, bean sprouts, and a side of red pepper and sweet and sour sauce. Adding some white onions always enhances the flavors for me. To complete the experience, don't forget to grab a Vess soda in pineapple or fruit punch for that true taste of home. Despite the modest appearance of Taste 8, the food is undeniably delicious, especially the fried rice and lo mein, making it a worthwhile visit for those seeking a taste of St. Louis in Atlanta.
