My friend suggested we go to this new place in the Village. It looked nice with candles on the tables and big barrel of Sangria. We started with four tapas dishes, each one was excellent. My favorite was the mushrooms with sun-dried tomatoes, be sure to order it. Our server was friendly and helpful. I couldn't make up my mind what to order and she suggested the Paella. Unbelievable! shellfish galore with wonderful saffron rice. There were several large groups in the restaurant while we were there who seemed to be having a great time. Sangria seemed to be very popular. We tried a tiramisu for dessert, lots of rum, it was great. This place was so much fun we had to write a review and we have told all our friends. If you are in the village check it out.

We saw a very funny show (Gutenberg) at the Actors Playhouse on 7th Ave. The owner of the theater recommended Broncas, a Tapas Bar and Restaurant. The place has a great west village atmosphere with candles on tables, exposed brick walls, and a small bar. The owner greeted us when we arrived. We could tell it was the owner because he exuded pride in his place. We started out with his recommendation a "Broncarita" a Margarita with a secret ingredient (Quarente y tres the owner told us) a Spanish liqueur. It was great. We shared four tapas dishes to start and one was better than the next. My favorite was the mushrooms with sun-dried tomatoes, be sure to order it. Our server was friendly and helpful. I couldn't make up my mind what to order and she suggested the Paella. Unbelievable, shellfish galore with wonderful saffron rice. The owner checked to see if we were enjoying ourselves during the meal, which we were.

There were several large groups in the restaurant while we were there who seemed to be having a ball. Sangria seemed to be very popular. We tried a chocolate explosion for dessert and it was great. We wanted to stay longer but there were people waiting at the bar for a table so we left.

This place was so much fun we had to write a review and we have told all our friends. If you are in the village check it out.

We stopped in for Happy Hour on Monday and had a “Broncarita” which was super. It’s a Margarita that they add Quarente Tres to. They also gave us a free taste of tapas each time we ordered another round of drinks. We had salad and tapas for appetizers and enjoyed Paella and Churrasco Skirt Steak for our entrees. The servers were really sweet and helpful. The ambiance and music were perfect. The owner hung out with us and gave us the story behind the name Broncas which actually means argument in Spanish. He was born in the Bronx and his partner is from the Canary Islands. The look is great and the people are warm. We loved it.

Great new restaurant in the West Village!I I was there last Saturday evening (reservations recommended) with 6 friends. The place was "alive and kicking". We first ordered some authentic tapas from Spain while waiting for some latecomers. They were great. Then, our waitress suggested some appetizers and entrees with matching wines. She was right on the money!. The food was excellent as well as the service, music, and overall experience. We'll be back.
