My husband and I stumbled upon this place after moving to Jersey City and we LOVE Triumph. We decided to try it out after not being totally impressed w/ our meals at the restaurant across the street and other mediocre JC dining spots. We sat near the bar and watched a game on a Sunday afternoon and got a great burger and spoke to the owner. We were so excited to find a new spot that had a very inviting menu (French and Italian), and everything we had was fresh and delicious. We go there at least once a week because we know we can get a great meal and good service.

I love this restaurant.... stumbled across it and go here once a week at least. We love it here - great spot to bring guests, eat at the bar, or catch Sunday brunch. The French/Italian menu is great and everything we've eaten was delicious.

What was bad about it? I find the negative reviews hard to believe. I ate here the first time about a month ago and just got a burger for lunch. The burger rocked, great roll and fries were amazing. We have been back ever since. We have lived in JC for a year now, and no other JC restaurant beats Triumph thus far. The homemade spinach ricotta ravioli is so thin and fresh tasting, the filet mignon is huge and the sauce with it is to die for. My husband loves the steak tartar, and the pork chop is superb. We have also tried the truffle mac n chz and that also is a great choice. The pear endive salad is so good too. I would recommend this place to everyone (dining w/o kids).

Nice brunch at a nice place! Bloody Mary was nice and spicy. The eggs Benedict was cooked superbly -- no runny middle on the eggs! The smoked salmon & mascarpone cheese crepe was very good. The salmon was freshly smoked. Nice crème brulee to finish. Nice strong coffee

Spent last night with two other women at Triumph. Three appetizers (beet salad, baked camembert, and we had the mushroom ravioli, which is a pasta entree as an appetizer), Each dish was really delicious. Only one of had room for an entrees so we ordred the mussels in a curry-cream sauce. Nothing disappoinred and the fries were exceptional.
We had profiteroles and creme brulee for dessert. The "Tiumph" take on profiteroles was a great success and the creme brulee, which i consider a boring dessert was properly "burnt" and crystallazed per my request.
The service was excellent. I eat out every night in Manhattan where i reside in the West Village was i was surprised and happy that Jersey City has a wonderful new place that i can frequent again and again with my firiends who live there. There is an adjacent parking lot. The prices are fair, and maybe, after a few more entrees, i would even re-rate the food at a higher level. Go to Triumph. It's like Pastis but less obnoxious and with much better food!

So many great dishes on the menus! Nice outdoor section too! You must try the mushroom raviloi with a truffle sause to die for. The beet salad is out of this world. Definately up and coming in Paulus Hook
