Bad service….. The serve was extremely rude to us. The food isn’t as good as it used to be. I prefer Honshu lounge in exchange place better.

The sushi here is the best in Jersey City. I loved my chirashi. My husband ordered some maki but that wasn't nearly as good as the pieces even though i love maki.

I have been eating my dinner in this restaurant since couple years ago. But everything has been changed. My tuna was turned to black-dark color. I complained to the server, but the server told me that it is supposed to be that color. My appetizer was watery-sauce -no taste at all. The server never fill up my water, even I request couple times. The last, they gave me the check before I have ordered my dessert. When I asked the dessert, the server told me that there is no dessert available this night. Hmm.. what kind the attitude is it.

This place is AMAZING. Komegashi is THE restaurant that converted me into a sushi fan. The rolls are incredibly fresh and moist. Thanks to a well-balanced combination of mayo and sauce, I don't even bother dipping my sushi into soy sauce. I recommend the BBQ Lover roll, the Spider roll, and the ST squared roll. The sushi is a little pricey but certainly comparable to almost any sushi place in NYC (and the price is well-worth the quality of food you're getting).

In addition to the Special rolls, I recommend getting the over rice meals (sukiyaki-ju, katsu-ju, etc). Very satisfying and authentic. =)

The ambiance and service is very nice here. I got a warm towel for cleaning my hands and wiping my face, and our table got a complimentary edamame appetizer that was super tasty. I recommend sitting on the inside rather than at the bar because you overlook NYskyline and the marina/boats.

I took my family tonight, June 10, to komegashi 2 for my father's birthday just like I do for all occasions. I have been a loyal customer since the inception of Komegashi on Warren St. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years - eating at both restaurants at least 2x a month and ordering for my business at least once a week. I am very familiar w/ the staff and the delivery man as they are with me. But tonight, I made a decision that Komegashi has changed and it is not a place where I want to bring my family and friends anymore. I came in a 5:30 w/ my family of 6 and the restaurant was practically empty because it was so early. I asked the hostess in the turquoise dress to seat us by the window and she flat out refused to put 2 small tables together for us - stating that they don't seat parties of more than 4 in that area. This was a blatant lie since that is where we sit during all our family dinners. I even have pictures that Komegashi takes during the occasions...mother's day/father's day. I did not feel like arguing with her so I asked if we could sit on the other side of the curtain. She refused again and insisted that we sit by the bar where there is no sunlight - even when I told her that my parents were elderly and have a hard time reading the menu there because it is so dark. The reason she didn't want us to sit on the other side of the curtain was because there was a table reserved for 20 on the right side of the area. I asked to be seated on the other side where there was a table for six and she still refused because she said "service will be very bad there". She kept insisting that the area where we wanted to be seated would very busy because of the party of 20. I saw the reservation card on the table for the party of 20 and they were not coming in until 7:30. So I don't know why she couldn't seat us near those tables when we arrived at 5:30. I think she didn't want to seat us by the kitchen because there was a table next to the empty one that full of her friends. She begrudgingly sat us there finally and kept saying that service is going to be terrible there. It was such an unpleasant experience for all of us and it nearly ruined my father's birthday. I felt like my money was no good there and my loyalty meant nothing to the proprietors. If the owners care at all about pleasing their customers, old long time ones or new ones, they would change this woman's position in the restaurant because she was so unwelcoming and rude. I have my own business and have had it for 14 years now and if I spoke to my customers like that, I would lose each and every one of them. It's just a matter of time before the rude staff and escalating prices affect this restaurant's attendance. We left the restaurant at 7:30 - just as the party of 20 were arriving.
