Excellent food

Took guests last night (Friday 12/12/2020. Not busy at all. Have always been so happy with the food. Raved to siblings how good it waa. The Fried shrimp was overcooked and rubbery, tasted like old iodine taste, cole slaw was half water and half slaw, turnip greens were over seasoned with liquid smoke. Brother ordered a two piece filet of catfish dinner when arrived was only one filet. Waiter just walked off and when we called him back he said oh yeah I wrote it down as two piece but one piece flew off the plate and the chef has just dropped another piece on the fryer. But he had not bothered to inform us of this prior. Cheese grits were not creamy and cheesy. Fried green tomatoes were great.

We've had the same experience. David's was a little gold mine, not anymore. Fried shrimp was so disappointing. Small, and pricey. Grouper Nuggets were a fake, I believe. Very greasy and I never did find any grouper in all the breading. Done.

food is either undercooked or over cooked. used to love it, not any more. sad was one of our most beloved places to eat. slaw is horrible, fish doesn't taste the same, something to do with the oil, taste old. hushpuppies we just threw away dark no flavor. better get it together or you will not do well, we travel from destin to eat there. no more

My husband and I gave always enjoyed David's Catfish in the past but the last 2 times since reopened undrr new owners has not been good. The onion rings didn't even hold together ( the batter was so thin that it just fell off the ring and cooked to a crisp. Used to live the cole slaw but now it was like soup. We will not go back again for a long time. 3 strikes you're out.
