The food at this place was absolutely delicious! I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of slaw, and it was all so flavorful and satisfying. The service was excellent, and the attached thrift store was a real treasure trove - I spent hours exploring all the amazing finds.

Here's what you get for your minimum 2 nights at $80+ price: a bed, electricity, cold running water, and a TV with a VHS player. Electric coffee maker and all furnishings from the Dollar General.
Here's what you might get: some hot water (the hot water tank in this motel is about the size of a gas tank in a Honda Civic) and cable, if the cable is working (twice in a row that we stayed there, it was not.) Also, if they feel like it, the restaurant will be open. One year it was open, the other year, during a 3-day holiday weekend, they took off on "winter break".
Here's what you won't get: a phone, clock, wifi, cell phone service, a front desk (both times we stayed there the owners were unavailable, and with a phone in the room or cell phone service in the town, we had no way to reach them)
Bottom line: for far less money, stay in Truth or Consequences. You'll get a clean room, with a phone, clock, front desk, working cable, and wifi and depending on the motel, even a microwave. You'll get less attitude from the owners, too. If you're looking to save even less money, check out the camp grounds out by I25. You can rent a cabin with heat and a/c and electricity for less than $20 a night, and the owners are friendly, and there's wonderful clean showers, and a little attached store.
