I have been a longtime visitor to Hessel and its neighboring areas, and recently I was saddened to discover that the Hessel Grocery had closed. However, my spirits were lifted when I saw what had replaced it. The Nibblelungen offers a clean and well-organized storefront with all the essential items, as well as locally made brews, spirits, and food for those looking to celebrate the region. The delicious breakfast and lunch plates, such as the biscuits and gravy, kept me coming back during my stay. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere of the dining area made me appreciate the positive changes happening in this small town, and I look forward to returning to the Nibblelungen on future visits to Hessel.

Most unfriendly business in the Les Cheneaux Islands. I refuse to go in there anymore after my children and I were mistreated multiple times.

Very unfriendly. Shelves are very bare. Very limited selection. Need to bring back the former friendly staff. Owners would do best to stay out and let locals run it friendly like it use to be.

I don't know what the other reviews are talking about - probably people who can't stand change. Nibbelungen is a terrific addition to the town. Great home cooked breakfast, and the staff is all VERY friendly.
