Right by Romero's Fruit Stand outside Espanola is a spot where chicken quesadillas stole the show for my grandsons, and my daughter and I became obsessed with the green chile stew-seriously, we slathered it on everything. The enchiladas rival any fancy Santa Fe joint, served with fluffy sopapillas that were so good I'm still dreaming about them, and the combo plates are so generous you'll need a nap afterward. Friendly faces, fresh food made to order, and an atmosphere that feels like a cozy community hangout make this a must-visit whenever I'm cruising between Taos and Santa Fe.

You absolutely must try the food at Socorro's, especially the Chicken Quesadillas and Green Chile stew, which have captivated my family and me. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is charming, and every dish is made with care, making it an unforgettable dining experience every time I visit.
