Up until yesterday I’ve never had poor food at S+L, (service yes) but we shared a plate of calamari, when it arrived it looked like it had been dropped and only half the portion picked up, it was tasteless like the sauce that came with it. My steak, asked for rare, came as a medium to med-well and tough as could be, and like the pepper side dish, was so salty it overwhelmed the dish, how do you screw up steak when that’s your business?

To add insult, the service was atrocious…..we waited for 10 mins before having to ask for a menu, we ordered wine then had to chase up another server to ask for it to be brought to the table. Our server brought white wine out, poured, left it open on the table, no cooler on a warm evening. Our meals were served and we asked for pepper, after wandering around three other tables she went inside, came out, no pepper, by now we had eaten most of our meal but she offered to get pepper when we reminded her we asked for it a while back.

The restaurant wasn’t busy and we noted three other tables having issues with either her service or their bill, the table behind us had to ask someone else for cutlery and for their wine also, which came after they had finished their first course.

This is not a cheap restaurant, the least they could do is get the food or the service right. There are too many other restaurants out there, will not waste time or money going back here
