I was so excited for my husband & I to be able to dine outside at the beautiful Frisbee’s Wharf. We made reservations & were told we could reserve a table by the water. The person taking my reservation said to get there a few minutes before, but not too early, to wear a mask, and that we could only stay for 1 hour. They were being responsible about socially distancing.
We got a text about 1/2 hour before saying our table would be ready at the reserved time. We answered that we were on our way & would be there a few minutes before the reserved time & we thanked them.
When we arrived a few minutes before our our reservation, a young guy told us we were all set and to go on down to the deck. Once we were about to be seated, I realized it wasn’t by the water. I mentioned that we had a reservation for a table by the water. At first the man who took my reservation said It wasn’t reserved. Then he said he didn’t know why, but it had been changed.
Two people with menus had just been seated, I guess at our reserved table. I asked could we wait, and he said it would not be possible. They gave our table away, for no apparent reason.
It was very disappointing, as was the fact that it was hot & sunny with no umbrellas to protect customers from the sun & heat. They said they didn’t set up umbrellas because it was ‘too windy’. We have dined there in previous years with umbrellas on days with much more wind, sometimes off the water. Today there was a slight land breeze.
We both were very disappointed with losing our table for no apparent reason and not being given a better
alternative. The host did offer to buy me a drink. I declined and we decided to leave.
The view is magnificent, but I can no longer recommend this restaurant.
