Visited three weeks ago for the first time for the Wednesday $14.95 Prime Rib Special. Was served a FANTASTIC Rib Eye instead. When I told waitress it was a Rib Eye, she flatly said "It's Prime Rib"; when I pointed out the obvious differences between the two and that the steak on my plate was definitely a Rib Eye, she admitted she didn't know for sure. The Rib Eye was delicious!!!!
Went back last week and told the waitress "I actually got a Rib Eye the week before and I would prefer that over the Prime Rib" whereupon she said she would tell the cook.
Out came the steak. It was a squarish, flat sirloin steak. It too had great flavors, but I literally worked up a sweat chewing it.
I told the witless waitress it was sirloin not a Rib Eye.
Yesterday, Oct 28th, I went back and ordered the steak special and the waitress actually said "You want the Rib Eye Special?"
I confirmed and 15 minutes later I was presented a squarish, very flat sirloin. Like it's brother the week earlier, it was tough to chew and even hard to slice with a steak knife. I gave up trying to eat it about two thirds through. When the waitress finally came by and asked "How is everything?" and I told her that the steak was not a Rib Eye and very difficult to chew and pointed to the uneaten portion on my plate, she said "I will tell the cook".
Apparently she did because she gave me a 15% discount coupon for my next visit, which I have no intension of using.
Hoodoo me once is one thing, but Hoodoo we twice and you're out. I feel certain the management of Redd's wants to save it's quality rib eyes for those who order the $21.95 menu selection and they pawn off an unchewable sirloin for the $14.95 Prime Rib Special. Three strikes and there are out!!!!
