This is late on posting simply because I didn't wish the owner any ill feelings; however he is the type of owner who doesn't take responsibility for his and this Restraunt's own shortcomings.
He made sure to give me ill feelings the moment I reported this problem to him. And now he continues to do so.
So here goes: I ordered take out food Chicken Vindaloo during the first COVID-19 pandemic outbreak around April 2020/21. When I brought it home and opened the take out container I immediately started to spoon out the Vindaloo. Between my first and second spooning out I noticed a shiny thing in the stew near top of the product. I picked it out with the spoon and at inspection I noticed it to be a medium/small sized shard of shiny solid white glass. The type from kitchen glass plates or cups.
I immediately called the restaurant to report and return the food. He/ the manager-owner answered the call and expected me there to return it. When I showed him the food (which was totally in tact without any eaten) with the shard of glass in it; his first instinct was to deny they had anything to do with it and instead accused me of putting it there. I was taken aback as I did not expect this from anyone. I told him I was being truthful in that this glass was in my food before I ever opened the box. He then went to get information from his cook came back out and said they had no broken glass back there in the kitchen and that I was lying.
Well I'm here to tell all customers, I was not lying, I didn't even think of lying (I wanted to eat my food, cuz I was hungry when I ordered it.). But I also did not expect the manager/owner to lie to me. Accuse me of putting that piece of glass in the food container and for me to come back just to return it. He must be crazy mad, I thought. He has never been personable. Only wants $$$.
I ensured him the glass came from whoever cooked or packaged the food. I told him I did not want a replacement but instead my money back. I told him I would not be returning; he then said I was never welcomed back and not to return. He wanted the last words and it be to kick me out! Fine by me, I'm not wanting to eat glass; go to hospital and then have restaurant take no responsibility. F**k That.
Fast forward to yesterday March 16, 2023. I'm moving away from the Pocket area today and was walking by Hop Junction on my way to pick up a lunch from a nearby great restaurant. I saw Hop Junction and immediately recalled how rude and condescending the owner was to his customers . I wondered if he had changed? It looked busy so I went inside for first time since that horrid glass incident. I walked up to an empty table, the owner eagle eyed me and directly came up to me and asked what I was doing. I asked if I could sit at the table to order. He said No, and I asked why not? He said because there was no glass in the food, there were no broken dishes upon his inspection that night, and that I was lying. I confirmed there was glass from his restaurant. He disagreed and asked me to leave. I told him I would gladly leave and that I didn't need to come back. (As I gently patted him on his folded hands.)
Customer's enjoy your patronage there; but be aware of everything this man is serving you, what he says and how he says it. Because it's all a total lie to protect himself. I wouldn't be surprised if he berates his kitchen staff as well. No mediocre Indian food or hop beer is worth paying him money or to even see his Ugly face and experience his disgusting demeanor again. Yes that's right, I said it, you narcissist! There are other words to describe you; but I will refrain.
