Best restaurant on Hatteras Island

We live on Ocracoke and never have time to stop to eat “up the beach” so when we read a review on Facebook of Tavern On 12 we decided to call from Buxton to place our order as we were heading to the ferry.
When we got there our order was ready and well presented by a cheerful young woman who was very efficient.
Food was delicious! This is our new stop. Minutes to the ferry and food still very warm. Highly recommend Tavern on 12 ! Vegetarian? No problem. Try it!!!

The crab marguerita pizza was amazing. Although a personal pizza, it is easily enough for two. Loaded with crab meat.

The Worst- No Cook Staff, Chef nor Food Preparers Wearing Masks!!!! Incredible - this restaurant should be shut down for flagrant disregard of the health of their patrons and staff - they could be spreading COVID to everyone walking on the door!!

Outstanding food!! The waitstaff couldn’t be more friendly. Lodge nearby so I can go there every day!

the tavern on 12 is wonderful. Even with the covid they have been very courteous and very cheerful. Service and timeliness has been extradinary. And the food has been superb. I recommend to all who visit the frisco nc area to give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Thank you tavern 12.
