I was really ticked off this morning. My husband and I (both senior citizens) enjoy going out for huevos rancheros for our Sunday morning breakfast. We have been going to Taco Haven Southtown for years. The cost has been $3.99, as it is in many places. When we got our bill this morning, to our surprise the cost has suddenly gone up to $5.99 ( a 50% increase) since last week. When I questioned the waitress, she said that yes the prices had gone up. Now mind you the plate comes with 2 eggs, beans and potatoes---no meat. I could not believe it. First of all, the amount of the increase, second, the fact that we were not told this before we ordered. To add insult to injury, I was informed that they have a new system that automatically adds a service charge when you use a credit card. Needless to say, they have lost our business.
