What should have been a simple 5:30 pickup of a cheesecake ordered several days in advance turned into one of the poorest examples of customer service I’ve seen. Generally when an order is placed with a set pickup time the item is ready to go at that time. I was told my cheesecake needed to be topped and boxed when I walked in around 5:35. By almost 5:50, my order was still not ready. Two employees came out of the back around that time joking with each other with one locking the other out of the back room while she banged on the door telling him to let her in repeatedly. After about 30 seconds, he opened the door and she went back. Within a few minutes, the female employee walked out carrying a cheesecake that was in about 6-7 crumbled pieces and said “I ruined your cheesecake when I was taking it out of the pan. I can give you this one and make another one for you later.” I explained the cheesecake was for a birthday party at 6. I was given the option of getting a variety (which I use loosely considering there were two or three types left) of individual cheesecakes. None of the flavors left were anything my son would have been interested in eating or serving to his family on his birthday. I declined and told her maybe the cheesecake wouldn’t have been ruined if the employees hadn’t been playing around. She proceeded to huffily explain to me she had just removed it from the pan a minute prior to bringing it out despite it just needing to be “topped and boxed” 20 minutes prior. The female employee told me she could give me a refund and walked away from me. I left empty handed and will address a refund with the owner tomorrow.
