My 17 year old daughter and her friends went to lunch at Franka's. My daughter has peanut allergies. She ordered the pesto chicken sandwich. She eats pesto often. The pesto at Franka's was made with walnuts and she had an allergic reaction to the point her friends took her directly to the ER. It was not on the menu and it was not specified that their pesto was made with walnuts (pesto is typically made with pine nuts which she is NOT allergic to). She vomited, could not breath and her eyes were swollen shut. We called only to suggest they place that fact on the menu to avoid this happening to others. The manager was rude, told us it had nothing to do with their food and HUNG UP THE PHONE! Did not ask how my daughter was or anything. Meanwhile, while she was having an allergic reaction and was being rushed to the ER, they made sure the girls did not leave without paying their bill! Will NEVER go to this restaurant and will make sure no one I work with downtown goes there either! SHAME ON YOU! Yes, and by the way, after a day in the hospital, my daughter is okay! All we wanted was to be treated like humans and to agree to place a peanut allergy warning on their menu or list that their pesto has walnuts in it instead of pine nuts.
