On our way down from Northern Alberta to Vancouver we happened to stop in at this cute little cafe /bakery for breakfast. It was a beautiful summer morning so we chose to eat on the patio. We ordered ahead so our food was ready when we arrived and served promptly.
The menu offers a nice variety of dishes including gluten free, dairy free, and keto diet options. Delicate, complex flavor profiles at a reasonable price point.
Wow! So delicious!
We ordered the breakfast burrito. It was just the right mix of lightly scrambled eggs, cheddar, pico de gallo and housemade vegan sausage crumble. You can order this with bacon if you like. It was grilled to a golden brown and a tasty jalapeno crema was drizzled over top. So good!
The chimichurri sandwich we ordered came with roasted carrot and quinoa, maple turmeric dressing, housemade kale chimichurri, pumpkin seeds & dried cranberries. We added the housemade vegan sausage. You could add chicken. It was a bit dry but scrumptious.
Both the burrito and the sandwich were served with a side of lovely mild jalapeño, cabbage, carrot coleslaw - by far the best we’ve ever tasted!
Next, we ordered the cranberry orange bread pudding served hot with a bit of whipped cream on the side. A tasty balance between the flavor of sweet cinnamon and the tartness of orange and cranberry. Perhaps a bit over baked for our taste - nothing an extra dollop of whipped cream couldn’t offset. Mm-m-m!
The totally best part of our meal was the freshly roasted herb potatoes! Baked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. Had to request a second large order of these. Definitely recommended!
Located right off Highway 5, this place is a treasure that is very easy to find. Stop in on your way by. You’ll sure be glad you did! We are!
