Saturday afternoon @ 1:15 pm, I met my bestie at BURNTWOOD TAVERN in Golf Coast Town Center for apps & drinks. We were celebrating our respective belated Birthdays as mine happened to fall on the day Hurricane Ian hit, & hers at the end of October. However, her home is currently a hotel for displaced family members from Hurricane Ian, so celebrating on her actual b.day was just never going to happen.

We were originally going to meet @ a restaurant in Miramar Outlets, however w/ me living a distance away, bestie suggested I pick any place I'd like in Golf Coast Town Center. I googled the entire GCTC & perused the restaurant selection. BURNTWOOD TAVERN appeared to offer the things I like most when I venture out to eat and drink. That is a good menu selection, & a nice wine list. So...we agreed to meet at 1:15 pm 11/03/2022. Upon arrival, we each parked & went onto the sidewalk right outside the restaurant where dining tables are located. Getting into the place is a feet in & of itself. There are 2-Glass doors BOTH LOCKED! Then, there is a set of sliding glass doors...again LOCKED! However, there were 2-servers standing on the other side of the sliding doors, looking at us w/ smirks on their faces as we tried to open the 2nd set of doors. NEVER ONCE did they even contemplate opening the doors for us, OR, in the very least, motion us in the direction of the CORRECT DOORS to enter this joint. It must be said, there exists ZERO SINAGE on any of above mentioned doors stating something like; "Please use very front doors," "Service entry only," "Keep locked at all times," "Not customer entrance" (front door located around the front of the restaurant not even in clear view from the ONLY parking lot)!

We finally make it to the front doors, step inside & went UN-GREETED by the young hostess standing there chatting it up w/ a tallish, super-skinny, blonde-haired woman. My GF (way too excited for her own good for a drinkie or 5) continued to walk around the bar to where there existed a few hightop dining tables (but still located w/in the bar area.)

STORY-TIME: prior to moving here 8-yrs ago, I had been in the Food Service industry since the age of 15, w/ my family having owned pubs, & then myself opening a Farm-To-Table Gourmet Organic No-Menu Bistro back in 2003-2007, so I am extremely knowledgeable about BOTH customer & proper restaurant employee etiquette, so I stopped just short of the hostess stand w/ the younger & older lady STILL IN FULL CONVO, & asked politely; "Excuse me? Are we supposed to check in w/ you if we want to sit at a hightop, or do we just seat ourselves?" (mind you, my bestie had already taken a seat at an empty hightop & looked like she was about to settle in for a long winter's nap). W/ this, the tallish, skinny gangly-looking woman looked straight at me & motioned w/ her hands in the direction of the younger girl & SPOKE THESE FOLLOWING WORDS...IN A SENTENCE...W/ A STRAIGHT FACE: "This👉is a HOSTESS, & it is her job to decide where to SEAT YOU!" I immediately flashed the younger girl a look expressing my most inner desire at that moment SHE'd be the only one I spoke to from there on out, & that the rude bi87h to her right should go pound sand!

It was at this point, young lady looked at me & said it was going to be a 45 minute to an hour BEFORE WE COULD EVEN ORDER-😏-as only 2-kitchen workers showed up for work (appreciate the honesty! HOWEVER, telling customers it is an hour wait before they COULD EVEN PUT AN ORDER INTO THE KITCHEN...MADE ZERO SENSE, for if they continued like this; all new orders would be GOING INTO KITCHEN AT SAME EXACT TIME, THUS THE FOOD WOULD NEVER GET OUT, & BOTH KITCHEN STAFF & CUSTOMERS ALIKE WOULD BE MAD AS HELL)!

At this point, my ding dong friend finally realized I was not sitting across from her & was in fact STILL STANDING at the hostess podium, so she then trotted her little a&& back over to me. I asked her if she minded waiting an hour to even be able to put our orders in, & she was kool w/ that as drinkies were her main priority presently! I told the hostess "Fine," & she took my name & contact number. Things got a lit'l awkward after this, because the young hostess continued to stand & stare at our dumb a&&es, but never attempted to seat us! My friend then asked if we could sit at this cute little horseshoe-shaped booth at the far end of the bar? Skinny McFartel-Pants leaned in close to the young hostess & whispered something into her ear. She told the hostess that we could NOT sit at a table ANYWHERE (nor could any customers coming in after us) for at least an hour, thereby; we'd have to sit at the actual bar, of which there were but a few seats left open. So we sat ourselves at the last of 4 bar-seats which were @ the end of bar at service station, piled w/ dirty dishes/glasses. We never got to order food. Took 20 minutes for 2-drinks ($22.00 for a Bloody & a Mule), still never allowed an actual table AND Skinny McFartel-Pants was THE GM😡 NVR AGAIN
