We were able to visit Phil's new tavern while traveling through Chicago"¦ what a great place. Fantastic staff and a small but wonderful menu that was incredible value for money. I ate the Fish & Chips special, which had lovely proper pieces of fish that were perfectly cooked and a delicious coleslaw that was just outstanding. The next evening I had the Salmon sandwhich, which also came with fries for less than $10, and was unbelievable. I have heard that Fri-Sat they have a homemade pissole that is to die for but sadly we had to leave before I could try it. The live music on Wednesday night was a really talented group of blues/rock musicians and we bought a vinyl LP, which was cool. Great relaxing place to hangout and have a beer"¦ it's a good job my wife & I don't live close by or we'd be there every night!
