My hometown is Hoian, Vietnam. I have loved food from my mom's kitchen since I was young. When I came to America, I dreamed of introducing my hometown's cuisine to the world but I was not sure if I could succeed.

It really hit me when Chef Anthony Bourdain visited Hoi Anh and fell in love with our local Banhmi. He inspired me to introduce my hometown's signature streetfood to people in my new country. I started dreaming about the first Banhmi store and in 2021, I brought my vision to reality. Bee Banhmi was soft open on October 15th.

When I started my first Banhmi, a customer wrote this beautiful review for my sandwich, I was so happy. He didn't know he gave me more than a review. He gave me the encouragement to make my dream come true.

"I just had one of their Banh Mi sandwiches. I did not think food could make me this happy...I was just expecting a sandwich, but this was so much more. It started with the bread: perfectly crispy but not tough to chew in the slightest, golden and bubbly outside, just enough bread inside to soak up the flavor. Honestly, a food photographer wouldn't have to use filters with this sub, it was just that pretty. And the meat. Oh my god, the beef was so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Everything complimented the flavor bouquet perfectly. Every single marinated carrot was there for a reason. Every fresh jalapeno slice was cut to a perfect thickness that didn't overwhelm the pallet but still added the right amount of kick. The cilantro, the onion, and how could I forget: the soup! A cup of broth for dipping the sandwich was the perfect touch. And I do mean perfect. This sandwich was not just a sandwich; it was an experience, a feeling, a poem. Nothing in life is perfect, except for this sandwich- From Andrew Alekseev".
