Excellent food

July 1, 2023, Family of 4 went to Big Smoak for a celebration of a family member declared Cancer Free. This was an absolutely horrible experience. Three of us ordered the fish and chips. The fish was battered so much that it looked like a huge hot dog. Upon trying it, it was like raw pancakes on the inside. Large, raw, and extremely greasy. We spoke to the waitress about the problem. ( The waitress was extremely nice ). She took one of the plates away, returned, and said the oil had just been changed, the fish could be re-cooked ??? and we could get a 25 % discount. I am not certain how a re-cook would make this fish any better. We asked to speak to the manager. She was immediately defensive and rude and literally snapped at 2 people with us. She offered to re-cook the fish. I took a piece of fish, broke it in half and squeezed a good half cup of grease out of it. My hand was completely smothered in grease. I asked a person with us to get her camera. As soon as I said that, the manager hurriedly grabbed all 3 plates and in the process the tarter sauce splashed across the table to me. She then stated very rudely that we would not be getting a bill except for the 4th member who did not have the fish. Did I feel good about this ? Not at all !!! It was so very sad that customer service does not exist there. I would have loved for her to pull up a chair and say, " I hear we have a problem, how can we make it right ?" And please, this is not the fault of the waitress. Don't send her out to do your job.
