Wonderful service and delicious hamburgers!

review_stars 10/03/2022 - Disappointed Customer
On 9-15-22 I was referred to Danny's Burger Shack at 8002 N. Oak Trafficway in Kansas City, MO. by a friend that knew that I enjoyed a top notch hamburger joint. I went hoping to find a new treasure similar to the classic burger joints in Kansas City such as Hayes Hamburger and Chili, Jess & Jim’s Steakhouse, Westport Flea Market, Town Topic and LC’s Hamburgers. Unfortunately this facility didn’t come close to meeting my expectations for the following reasons:

FOOD ISSUES
1. The hamburger had a bland flavor to it and tasted as if it had been frozen.
2. They only offer one size of hamburger so if you want to buy a junior sized burger for your child or senior citizen, it’s not available. You have to pay for the high priced full size burger with most of it being wasted due to it being too much food for a senior or child.
3. The bun was a simple bun, didn’t have any flavor, and it appears that it might have been bought from Sams’s Club or Costco. It was not steamed or grilled with butter.
4. I’ve gone to this facility three times and they’ve been out of either hamburger or onion rings every time. When asked why, the non-chalant reply was “You just have to get here earlier in the day”. I’ve not had a chance yet to order the onion rings yet so I can’t comment on their quality. The basics should be available during all hours of business.
5. The French fries had no flavor and could have come out of a bag from Sam’s Club or Costco.
6. Diet Coke was not provided. Coke Zero is the only diet drink available.

FACILITY
1. The monitor that they use to display the menu flips between different screens/ menus too quickly. You have to wait for the screen to come back around several times if you’re trying to order different food items.
2. The acoustics inside are horrible. All of the wall surfaces are hard allowing every conversation to be heard and when people are disrespectful of other patrons and talk too loud, it’s unbearable.
3. The metal chairs are too skinny and uncomfortable.
4. There are no booths.
5. There are not any ‘two top’ tables for couples.

If you’re looking for a classic hamburger and onion rings that you’d receive from the restaurants listed above, this is not the place to go. If you want a burger that’s a bit lower in flavor and quality than McDonald’s, then this is the place for you.
