Been there at least 10 times now and have tried almost all of the burgers and sides. In a word superb. Favorites are the lamb burger, the Cajun Ahi Tuna, and
Real HAMburger. Great service, food is all high quality.

Did I just eat here on an "off" night? Because my meal at Vine Burgers was terrible. I love cheeseburgers and was excited to find this place since it has such high recommendations. Tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, it has all the markings of a secret local spot. Unfortunately, the awkward staff, poor quality food, and outrageous pricing makes it a restaurant I would never recommend nor return to.
The restaurant itself isn't fancy. It sort of looks like a warehouse room that was haphazardly thrown together with wine bottles and a t.v. When I'm paying around $45 for two burgers, sides, and sodas, it would be nice if the atmosphere was a little nicer -- and if I didn't have to swat away flies at my INSIDE TABLE (gross). The place didn't appear to be very clean either (including very dirty restrooms), so I can only imagine how bad the kitchen must be.
The girl working the register wasn't very pleasant nor particularly welcoming and friendly. She wasn't helpful at all when we told her it was our first time in, and she basically just took our order and then reminded us for a tip when we went to pay. Uh, that's pretty tacky.
We both opted for the Calistoga beef burger and added toppings (bacon for $3 and a fried egg for $1.50). You have to pay for everything here, including cheese (up to $2.50 EXTRA), sauces (mustard aioli for $1.50, ketchup for $1.50) and the like. I felt royally ripped off. The prices are ridiculous for the awful quality. I don't care what the signs say: if what I was served are "premium" ingredients, then the cooks have no idea how to prepare them.
We got sweet potato fries and fried pickle chips as our sides. The sweet potato fries were cold and limp, and obviously were not cooked fresh to order. The pickles fared better, and they were by far the best part of the meal.
The beef on our burgers had a mealy, bizarre texture, almost like overcooked meatloaf that lacked seasoning. I would describe the flavor as "gamey," which was extremely unpleasant. The meat patty was tiny, and the kitchen tries to disguise that fact by stacking the bun high with pickles, onions, lettuce, etc. Neither of us was able to finish our burger, and it's not because we got full -- they just tasted gross.
I don't like to dish out negative reviews, but this was an unpleasant, disappointing experience all around. I am not an overly harsh reviewer, but this place served me an inexcusably terrible meal.
I cannot fathom why Vine Burgers has such high reviews. I love cheeseburgers (they are one of my favorite foods), and I am far from a burger snob, but this place is a huge swing and a miss. Save your stomach, taste buds, and your wallet and choose someplace else.
