The oysters were small and contained sand and pieces of shell, at $18 per dozen. The steamed clams were old and tough. The person at the clambar offered to knock off the price of the clams ($10), an offer which I declined. I paid the full $28, but included no tip. When I tried to explain to the owner why we would not be coming back, he denied that the oysters contained pieces of shell, saying that many had been served and no one else had complained. Not a diplomatic response. Maybe he thought that we were trying to get the whole thing for free. Maybe he was having a bad day. I don't know, but I can't recommend a place where the owner didn't even acknowledge that the customer might be right.
