It is with great sadness I write this review because before this very unfortunate incident, we had grown quite fond of Rick Tanner's at Hamilton Mill after having been there numerous times and really enjoying the food and the people. I have even waited 24 hours before writing this review because I didn't want to do so in the "heat of the moment", so to speak. Ultimately I felt it would be irresponsible for me to not at least make others aware.

We had a family celebration, a table of 8. One of our guests ordered the fried chicken since Rick Tanner has been known in the Atlanta area for its wonderful chicken.

Well chicken is what arrived at the table … fried feathers and all. UGH! When my guest was in shock, the waitress asked "Do you want me to bring you another one"? The gentlemen calmly replied "Of course" and off she went. No apology or anything.

OK! Let's be real … people make mistakes, right? And a Manager is going to come over and say something, right? Absolutely wrong!

At the end of the meal, I called the Manager over and asked if he knew about the feathers and he gave me a big laugh saying absolutely nothing but "Yeah that happens in chicken places" and he walked off.

Later, I mentioned the incident to the Tanner employee who had recommended I use this restaurant for the family celebration. I also got a big laugh and "Yeah isn't that hilarious. But I can assure you that was really clean meat because it was fried."

So my friends, not only did: (1) the kitchen staff make a decision that it is appropriate to put the fried feathers in the pickup window; but then (2) upon seeing it, the waitress decided it was fine to bring the still 'feather clad,' chicken to the table as it is OK to serve to a customer; and (3) even management felt it is OK to serve this kind of plate to customers.

I was so embarrassed! And, not a single Tanner's employee or Manager ever even apologized for the incident.
