I recently visited a Caribbean restaurant in the Bronx and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food. The brown stew chicken reminded me of home cooking, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. While the restaurant may have some minor drawbacks like being cash only and not having freshly made cocoa bread, the overall experience was excellent, and I highly recommend trying their oxtails with peas and rice.
