Stick with the seafood. Fried shrimp was great for example. Stay away from the pasta and other items that don't have fish. They do seafood right.

First of all most people only review bad things. Well this is quite different! Coming from someone who has traveled the world; my father has spoke highly of the Seafood Barn for years! I finally made it here and GEEZ! I know now what the rave is about!!! I ordered 2 appetizers and shared a large seafood platter! The seafood is fresh unlike some other seafood places from here to Myrtle!! With that being said I ate at a seafood restaurant last night ocean front at Myrtle and it wasn't even close to being as fresh!!! Not sure what people from the bad reviews are talking about ???? What a great experience, food and price and I will definitely be coming back next trip to the coast!!

TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND RUN. This was awful from start to finish. Clam chowder was not remotely hot & came from a can. "shrimp burger" was popcorn shrimp thrown on a bun- I couldn't believe my eyes- no burger whatsoever. . Clam strips were cold. They screwed up a chicken Caesar salad and put shrimp on it instead. Disappointing is a massive understatement. I was hoping for a decent meal - my expectations weren't enormous- this was BRUTAL.
I will be copying and pasting this crappy review on YELP- that was $75 down the toilet. Ewwwww- do yourself a big favour and go anywhere but the seafood barn. We had a party of 10 and everyone had something wrong.

the service was very good! the food was poor.
1, the baked potatoes were old, least from lunch, maybe the day before.
2. My hamburger steak was burned on one side ( the side next to the plate).
3. the food came VERY SLOWLY. we were seated w/in 15 min. But after we got to order other tables that were seated after us got their food long before us and even finished their meal and some had paid and left.
I fear they will be out of business soon if they don't step up their game.

The flounder in my seafood platter wasa pasty consistency and full of bones. I got one glass of water and no offer for refill. Unable to eat anything else after tasting the flounder. Dinner for two was $55 but they took off $2 for the bad fish. Family tradition to eat here every time we visit Holden Beach for years. Will not be returning, time to find another seafood restaurant for our visits.

Great decor with antiques and home feel, but the food was small portions and way too greasy. Much better seafood back home. Service was friendly, and the food came to the table quickly, but the food was nothing to write home about.
