First of all, the place looks old and run down. Smelled like sweat!
Service was fair. We had to wait several minutes for drink refills after our drinks were empty. Food quality was poor. My husband and I both ordered fajitas, which were overcooked. It seemed to be a skimpy quantity compared to most Mexican restaurants. Beef in particular tasted old and rubbery. Rice tasted dirty and straight from a box. We also ordered a chile relleno, which was soggy and disgusting. My husband also ordered a chicken burrito, which he said was just ok; however, it was hardly even warm when they brought it to the table.
To make things even worse, the cashier tried to overcharge us on the chile relleno and chicken burrito, stating that their prices have gone up since they printed the menu. I brought it to her attention that they need to honor the prices printed in the menu, so she ended up doing so.
In summary, this place was a waste of time and money. We will never go back again. Trust your instincts when you look at the building and just go somewhere else. Taco Bell even rates higher than this place.

People unfamiliar with true Mexican food are disoriented by this fantastic and reasonably priced place. First of all, DO NOT make the mistake of ordering standard Tex-Mex or LA-Mex clichés. You will be disappointed. They do this turista food (flautas, chimichangas, enchiladas, or anything you would see on a fast-food menu) well enough, but it is in their native Guadalajara dishes ("Especialidades") where they will completely astonish you. It is a warm and friendly family-owned establishment, and mamacita herself is responsible for the recipes. Try the Carnitas! In the Guadalajara style they are not what you have come to expect: they are moist, succulent, and unbelievably rich in flavor. A variation on that is the Chile Colorado, where a thick, intense, and spicy salsa is added. Yum! A surprisingly great item is Camarones al Ajillo..plump, juicy shrimp sauteed in onions and garlic. It never fails to delight first-time visitors. The fish tacos are also light and delicious. I have traveled all over the world, and I know an authentically homemade restaurant when I see one. This is food prepared by people who love cooking and being with people. You will be treated like family from the first moment, and if you order from the Especialidades menu, you will be delighted!
