The fried chicken at Shrimp Boat is truly exceptional - it's a must-try in the area. While the staff could be a bit more welcoming, the delicious food makes up for it. I recommend calling ahead to order if you're in a hurry, but the fresh-fried chicken is definitely worth the wait. The fried okra and onion rings are fantastic sides to complement the main dishes.

Cash Only, No Cards. Fish Sandwich was terrible greasy, tables were not clean, I will not eat at this restaurant anymore,my first and last time.

I have ate at the Shrimp Boat for many years beside having good service they have great food never had any complaints

I was raised in Gastonia but live in New Bern now...I always eat at the Shrimp Boat when I come home!!! Love their food!!!!

Love Shrimp Boat chicken wing plate and tea. I get every time I eat there. Awesome. Nice friendly staff as well.

I love eating from the Shrimp Boat Restaurant but think that coleslaw should be served as a side with the purchased fish plate meals as other restaurants do..
I notice that Coleslaw must be purchased separately.
I have nothing Negative to say about this Restaurant though. It's one of my favorites.

I am Vanessa reviewing again. I am taking my time typing so as not to make the same typos as before lol. As I stated im a native of Gastonia but have been living in PA for the past 40 years.Everytime I come home to visit family my 1st stop for food is the shrimp boat. I love the entire menu.Just as Our Hoagies& cheese steaks cant be beat in Philadelphia. No body beats the shrimp boat in Gastonia. Cant wait to get there again.. Vanessa

Chicken was good. Fries were limp and greasy. Need to cook the fries longer.

I am now a resident if PA past 40 yrs but am a native. If Gastonia NC everytime I visit family .I make a bee line to the shrimp boat.it is a nust. I love theur fish green shrimp and hush puppies tgey are simply the best

Had the chicken tenders and were not satisfied. I expected a homemade batter fried chicken tender but instead received a frozen pre-battered fried pc of flat and dried out chicken tender. Could have picked those up in my nearest Wal-Mart. Not satisfied at all. Will not go back.
