To be fair, you should know that I have only just eaten there today so naturally, I haven't experienced but a fraction of their menu. My wife works at a local regional call center and some of her fellow employees suggested that, if we liked hotdogs, Stephanie's has the best, and we should try them. I've heard that song before but agreed reluctantly to give them a try. Stephanie's is about 20 miles from our home in High Point, so I was not excited about the drive, but my wife really wanted to try them, so we did. We ordered two hotdogs each, with mustard, chili, slaw, and onions, the very first thing on the menu. We got our food, parked in the shade across the street, and opened the first two boxes. They certainly looked delicious enough. A bit too much cold slaw for me but I removed a little and took the first bite. That's when the magic happened. The rush of extraordinary flavors was instant. Not one mil-second's delay in the delivery of delight to the brain. It was instant. I don't think I have ever had that happen before eating any particular food. It was rather surprising. Anyhow, today, I gained a whole new respect and love for hotdogs, and was reminded of pleasant childhood memories a little. Stephanie's hotdogs are not only the best I have ever had anywhere, any time, I would not hesitate to use the word "gourmet" to describe them. The only problem I have with them is, we will be having to make that long drive at least twice a month now. Also, I will never be able to talk about anything else on the menu, because I will never get beyond those most fabulous hotdogs. Sorry about that. John Houston.
