Growing up in Roanoke Rapids it was the go-to place for my single parent. She would pull up in her pajamas with a yellow cloth raincoat covering them. At the time, never occurred to me she was too tired from working to dress and go out to eat. The service was always excellent, the menu special as we could not eat out much and so convenient to the working class! Such happy memories and to think the family owned business has served the Roanoke Rapids area so long! Just a big Thank You to all at Brownings!

I consider this the best hotdog and hamburger ever! It’s worth driving here to get food.

Browning's Grill is definitely one of a kind. It is a very small building with a dirt parking lot. A lady that has worked there for 44 years will come out to your vehicle and take your order. You will never taste a better hot dog or hamburger. Browning's opened in 1953. They are open Mon-Sat 11:00 am til' 8:30 pm. They have good navy beans also. It is a few miles off of I-95. But well worth the drive. I would give the directions but if you get off of exit 173, (Roanoke Rapids, NC) you can aask most anyone the location of Browning's grill and they can tell.
