The Red Pepper in Snead's Ferry offers a diverse menu of Asian-style take-out options, making it a popular choice despite its imperfections. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the service is efficient, making it a worthwhile dining experience for both new and returning customers.

We've lived in SF now for almost 2yrs and have eaten at the RP on occasion over these few years. Every experience isn't the "best" but its a small family owned restaurant that is IMHO is Americanized Chinese Cuisine. Excellent Appetizers such as the stuffed wonton and wings are normally great too... for all else its a hit or miss for the most part. I recommend the Seafood Delight, its always a winner with RP! Never had any issues with it or the Sesame Chicken.

Its a "great" restaurant if you just want a Lil Chinese on the go, if you want "elite dining" take a drive to Wilmington or Jacksonville.

Enjoy!

The food is fgood but the place is pretty nasty, the sign says that "all employedd must wash hands before returning to work" yet they never seem to have any soap in the mens room, and it smells terribly of piss in there, maybe a little bleach would help..

Being the only Chinese restaurant in SF, Red Pepper has distinct advantage. The good news is; it's pretty good! Is it out of this world? No. Is it decent and palettable? Yes. The family that runs it are efficient but courteous and friendly. The food is standard, Americanized Chinese fare. Stick w/ the basics. Como lunch meals are a great value. Teriyaki chix sticks are nice. They say no MSG is used, but I wonder if it is is in some pre-packaged ingredients they get as I often get a headache. Over all, not bad......especially nice to even have the option for Chinese in lil' ol' Sneads Ferry!
