The buffalo chips with ranch at John Boy's BBQ were a standout for me during my visit to Elkin. The menu had a wide selection and I opted for the baby flounder which was served with two sides. The combination of great food, friendly service, and reasonable prices made my experience at John Boy's BBQ a memorable one.

Best restaurant with the absolute best food in Surry County at the best price! Staff is extremely friendly and personable, and my family and I are looking forward to getting food from here again very soon! They also are NOT sparing on their portion sizes"¦so much food for so little money!

Average food. Nothing special. Cash only, which hurts their business I'm sure. Cheap quality ingredients. That's why the prices are low. Lots of fried stuff. French fries taste like fish.

I went in ordered food gave them the$ and got shorted some$ said they would call me the next day too make sure I wasn't lieing I told her that she didn't give me all my$ back so watch out they may short u $ too I liked that place but not anymore I will go in there

I have been told for several months now to come to John Boy's and try out their flounder so I decided to try it out tonight. I normally go to Captain's Galley in Jonesville or Yadkin Seafood in Yadkinville but I had been told that John Boys was much better. They were very crowded so that was impressive so evidently the food is great. I ordered the oysters and flounder, bake potato, slaw, and hushpuppies. The oysters were extremely delicious but I was not impressed with the flounder. It was very thin, mostly skin and very little meat on it. Maybe I just picked a bad night because as I said earlier they were crowded so it must be normally good. They are going to have to improve a lot to compete with the other seafood places that I normally eat at. We don't have anyone that serves seafood in Mt Airy that is worth eating. I hope that you buy better products in the future because it seems like a nice place and friendly people.

we ate lunch today and it was awful. The girls at the counter was too busy singing and making jokes to give any good service!! The girl that I'm assuming was cooking she was too busy trying to be notice by every guy that walked in the door!! The food was awful and please tell me how you can get BONES in popcorn shrimp?? Well I found several bones in my popcorn shrimp!! The big guy wasn't there and I've found that if he's not cooking the food is not as good!!!

Use to eat here, breakfast food is decent, but... Do not order the chicken pie or chicken in bowl, yuck. + Service is inconsiderate. Need to step it up, if you want to continue to stay in business.
