Been going to this place since the mid fifties while I was just a baby and have continued to go all these years later. I know it's under new ownership but the last two times we have been there the sauce didn't taste like the original which has always been unique. The first time it was more salty I would say. On our visit today on May 20, 2023 we ordered ribs a serving and a half so we can take some home and like the other reviews they charge you $0.40 to put your French fries in a bowl and I think at one time they used to serve crinkle cut fries but they could do something to improve the fries they serve since our meal alone each was over $21.50 for ribs, fries, 2 small celery sticks and 2 small round bread. They also charge for extra sauce if you want it on your fries and extra for sauce if you want it on your ribs and that certainly adds up but nothing's free anymore I understand that. The sauce this time wasn't anything like the original sauce. Even the ribs were less than good or somewhat burnt and the meat was dried up so we even asked the server that it looked like I didn't get an order and a half probably because the meat was dried up and normally I can never finish them and take some home but this time since there was lacking any moist meat to eat there was no leftovers. The bread doesn't even taste like the original bread nor does it taste good but I love celery so I enjoy the two celery sticks. I don't normally get a salad because all you're paying for is lettuce basically. I know under new ownership it takes some time to adjust but I hope that New Riegel can figure out the solution to some of these issues that people write about. When it's good it's good but the last two times have been disappointing and for the $63 we just spent on a meal for two people they could do a little better. For me this place is nostalgic and holds a lot good memories. So you can forgive a lot. But people expect quality.

Been going for years and visited on Sunday 4/23/2023. O my wife and I ordered Ribs and ask if fry’s could be put in a separate small dish. They charged .40 cents each to do this. Their prices have increased drastically $14.95 now and it taste like the original sauce is not used anymore and if it is , the taste is very different. Not as Good as the old sauce. Service was good and fast but when we was served our order it was not very hot. The time was about 12:15-1:00pm and was not very busy at all . Only 12 people while we were eating and when we left only 5 people eating.

We just visited the New Riegel Cafe for the first time since the new ownership. All was spiffy and well organized / the help were all smiling and seemed happy to be there / and the food was hot, delicious and maybe even more yummy than before!!!👍😁😜

The food at new Riegel is great!!!!. The only thing I dislike is their salad. It consists of lettuce and dressing. Please add tomatoes.

The prices are ridiculous for what you get. Their so called salad is nothing but lettuce, the fries are the worst. I always liked the sauce but that's about the only thing good about the food which like I said is way over priced.

The only restaurant that I know of where they don't offer free refills on your fountain drinks. Tight asses.

We have dined at a New Riegel Cafe for more than 50 years.
It was the first place Hubby took me to dinner out. It was a 50+ mile drive at that time.
We now make the 30 mile drive once or twice a month.
The ribs are delicious every time. Plentiful enough we always have some to bring home.
