Fred's has always been a favorite for its friendly, family-owned atmosphere and delicious, freshly cooked Southern food with a wide variety of choices that keep me coming back. However, I was disappointed to learn they've switched to soybean oil for frying-real butter and tallow would be much healthier, especially for the many seniors who dine here regularly.
