NEVER AGAIN
I have NEVER had a good experience at the AVON IHOP, but late last evening we were desperate, having not eaten all day and every restaurant was packed as a high school game had just gotten out, so we gave them another try. I have a couple of issues that restrict my diet, I ordered a sandwich and fries (no mayo on the sandwich and no seasoning on the fries).
Our waitress was both excellent and charming, and to my surprise our orders came in less than 10 minutes because it usually takes at least 45 minutes to get served at this establishment. I took a good bite out of my sandwich and got a mouth full of mayo (which I should have spit out, but didn‘t). I took my food back to the counter and said “the fries are fine, but someone put mayo on the sandwich, could you please change the sandwich…..thank you”. I shortly got back a plate with a new sandwich. The bread it was on had to have been baked before the Civil War, but at least there was no mayo. Unfortunately, I was even hungrier and greedily ate a hand full of fries, which were seasoned.
The upshot is that I have been up all night, taking medicine that has side effects that are nearly as bad as the illness.
NEVER AGAIN will I grace this establishment. The board of health should shut them down.
