I recommend the traditional cafí© run by two friendly ladies serving amazing apple pie and reasonably priced food, located in Mitchell near Painted Hills, with basic diner options and a welcoming atmosphere for a post-hike lunch stop.

Stopped here with 10 people after calling ahead and making reservations. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was kind and thoughtful. We all had Chile Rellenos.
