The views overlooking the Mississippi River are absolutely stunning, making it a must-see location. The food is consistently good, especially the Reuben sandwich and breakfast options, and the friendly staff adds to the enjoyable atmosphere.

The breathtaking views from the Legion overlooking the Mississippi River were so captivating that I found myself lost in the moment, forgetting all about capturing photos and videos. You truly have to experience it for yourself to fully appreciate the beauty. The delicious hamburger special I enjoyed on a Monday afternoon was satisfying, complemented by the crispy and well-seasoned fries. The attentive service from our server Sandy added to the pleasant dining experience, despite the slightly dated seating area and bathrooms that could use some care. Overall, the American Legion in Hastings, MN holds a special place in my heart for its great food, reasonable prices, and unwavering support for veterans.

Lousy serviice good food

Had to ask for everything . No soda with meal. No silverware

Asked for surprise bd cake for 96 year old vet-waters plopped on the table and could not say
Happy Birthday

He forgot his leftovers , went in quickly and already thrown away

Used to be great service. Not anymore.

The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because the patio is a wonderful place to sit and dine. Over the past several years, as I've eaten here, the patio has been the only pleasant part of the experience. Service is notoriously bad and the food average at best. Often the food is not even up to average. Tonight I ordered a chicken ceasar salad. What I got was a plateful of romaine lettuce with about a tablespoon of dressing (I'm not exaggerating ) and some chunks of chicken scattered on top. There was absolutely nothing else on the plate. Why do I keep going back? The patio is the best spot in town.
