Al who is the owner there is a biggest garbage person we have ever encountered in our lives. We booked a room for a wedding and he talked us into a bigger room with much more people than we thought we could handle. We just tried calling to switch the date and amount of people and for what it was and he told us we could do that… He tried to lie and say that we were cancel I’m trying to get our money back even though he said we can use $1000 deposit for anything at any time. Now he saying that we are inconvenienced him because it’s six months to the date and that we don’t have the amount of people like we told him we weren’t gonna have. Then he decided to insult me and my husband and he tried to say that he never talk to anybody but myself. Meanwhile my husband and my in-laws are sitting right next to me. We recorded every meeting we had with him because we do not trust a venue just telling us that we can move days around. Then he saying that he didn’t give a crap that we had a recorded conversation and that basically we were stupid. I don’t know what kind of business person can run a business calling anybody stupid or psychotic. Because my husband started to yell when he was starting to insult us and then I started to yell. He was demeaning us and insulting her as halogens and basically gave us a finger on where we stood with the date in deposit. I would not recommend this place to anybody because all he cares about his money. He’s a crook and he’s a liar he’s a thief and he’s a narcissist. He’s not a decent person and even when I worked for him many years ago he was the same trash person as I remember now. I try to give it a second chance and try not to believe the reviews reviews were right. They do take your money they do screw you and they have the worst food ever. They don’t answer your calls until you badger them so that’s why they call you crazy.
He claims he was never sued but my husband works for a law firm that has figured out that they have been sued five different times in the last few years.

The Brownstone is amazing. I've been there for several engagements and then decided to get married there. The staff has always been the very best, courteous, attentive, fun. They always help to make it the very best of times.

The food is outstanding. There are many favorites but in particular, the short ribs are to die for. I can't understand how anyone could say anything bad about The Brownstone.

The people there are RUDE and OBNOXIOUS. The place is very out dated and has a odor in the rooms. There are too many affairs going on at once and the service was horrible. I recently had an afternoon event which turned out to be a disaster. I came days earlier to leave props to be place on the table for our event. When arriving the props were not placed on the tables and they couldn't located them for over half an hour. There were only two wait staff assigned to my event of 60 people and we had to constantly keep asking to bring refills out to the table. There were three events going on in the same area. The music from the room next to use was so loud we couldn't even talk (no sound barrier). We asked the staff to have the other room turn down the music and they did not accommodate us. They offered a microphone which didn't work (faulty equipment) and tried to talk over the music which was impossible. The room we had was divided in two and there was another affair next to us. In order for the guests in the other room to come in they had to go through our room and kept coming into our event---which was very annoying. Not only did they walk into our room they were using our props we sent up for our event. At the end of the affair the manager was rude and obnoxious to me. He insisted I had more guests then the room was set up for and had his employees LIE how many people were there. I asked him to call the employee who set up the event with me to straighten out the confusion and he refused to call her and proceeded to threaten to call the police and lock me up in jail if I didn't agree to pay for the extra phantom guests. That is certainly not the way to handle a paying customer. They are only out to make a quick buck and are the rudest and inconsiderate owners I have ever met. THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING AN AFFAIR THERE. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!
