Hot Box is a piece of crap. Today I was going to Bruegger's, but I had to park in a Hot Box spot because everything was full on the Bruegger's side. As I was walking toward Hillsborough Street, this employee sitting on the back steps of Hot Box was like "Uh, do you know this isn't public parking?"
Okay, so first of all, I parked right in front of a towing sign. Second, I learned how to read when I was 3 or 4. Third, the way she asked me that was really rude. Like, her tone and her facial expression.
So I said I was going to Bruegger's and she just looked at me like I was ridiculous and stupid and I explained there weren't any open spots on the Bruegger's side. She said ok but kept staring at me like I was an idiot. As I walked away I heard her say to her friend, "If she's going to Bruegger's, it'd make sense to park over there."
Okay girl, can you understand English? I just told you there weren't no spots over there. (pardon my use of vernacular, aka non-standard English, but my dialect comes out when I get frustrated.)
I wish I were quicker on my feet. Then I'd've been like "Uh no, sorry, I can't read. Can you tell me what those signs say please?" See what she says to that.
Her talking to me rude and making that comment pissed me off so I went into Bruegger's, bought a coffee, and came out showing it to the girl and glaring at her.
Sheesh she was so rude. I wrote a complaint to Hot Box. Like, I can understand students park there a lot and it creates a problem, but that doesn't mean the employees have to be rude like I'm some 2 year-old who can't read.
