New to the island, we dove into this waterfront spot with great expectations and were wowed by the fast, friendly service and seriously tasty seafood-who knew seafood mac and cheese could be such a revelation? The vibe felt like stepping back in time with its pub atmosphere and incredible ocean views, while locals in work boots popped in for a cold one, giving it that authentic, lived-in charm. Between the jalapeño calamari starter, a messy-but-delicious fish burger, and generous portions that had us taking leftovers home, this place nailed it from the first bite to the last sip.

Our first visit to Shady Rest was fantastic - great service, delicious food, and a charming oceanfront atmosphere that we'll definitely return to.
