I went to eat at Mayflower with my husband and mom on 03/27/2013 and I regret it deeply. We use to love going there because the food had always been so good, but this trip proved to us that things have changed. The staff were really friendly, but the food was the whole problem. My mom and I got fried shrimp and my husband got the broiled combination plate. The flounder my husband got had very little meat, but a huge number of bones! My husband's plate cost $15.99 and the portions were so tiny it wouldn't have filled up a 5 year old. The 2 fried popcorn shrimp plates were horrible! The shrimp were hard, had no taste, had not been deveined, and most of them had the whole tail left on them so if we ate one by accident we felt like we were choking to death (and they were not as easy to see being fried).
My husband eat some of my fried shrimp because his plate did not have enough on it, which was a bad idea. About an hour after we got home be both became nauseated and I lost my food early in the morning. I have also been hit with diarrhea from it and have not been able to keep anything down the day after we went.

I don't know if its because they can't afford a better quality seafood anymore because of slow business, but they really need to change who they buy seafood from and they also need to make sure the seafood is cooked properly.

I don't feel its the fault of the employees, its the owner's responsibility to make sure they buy quality food to serve to their customers, and this owner is failing horribly now. Its a shame because we always enjoyed going there in the past and I can assure you, we won't be going there again.
