One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood for a good cappuccino and a productive work session is Intelligentsia on Broadway in Lakeview. While their coffee is a bit on the pricey side, the quality is worth it, and the ambiance with great music adds to the experience. I'd recommend sitting by the window for some people-watching, especially in the evenings when you'll see plenty of locals walking their dogs - it's a charming sight.
