This was one of the worse restaurants I've encountered in decades of dining out. The waiter, who primarily ignored our table, reminded me of a postal worker gone postal. Our ordeal began shortly after being seated at an outside table directly beneath an apartment patio and a pigeon perch. After being seated a pigeon took direct aim and proceeded to defecate on one of our party. Several shocked customers sitting at a nearby table saw the entire ordeal and promptly and very wisely exited the restaurant. My close friend asked our waiter for a cloth so she could wipe the mess off her husband's shirt. The waiter sarcastically and theatrically began dabbing at the mess making it more a theatrical event for all to see than a service or an apology. He went on to explain that a dog sitting on the apartment patio directly above our table had earlier been "drooling" onto our table. He dubbed our table, his words, the "sh-tty table". We were not given an option to sit at another table and by the time our food emerged, I had lost most my appetite. I had ordered the "veggie plate" which turned out to be a small portion of overcooked, mushy, almost unrecognizable vegetables on par with reheated cafeteria food. The very scant scoop of rice was the only tasty food on the plate. The kicker was the cost was $17.00 for the veggie plate!!! I was expecting much, much more for one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. When it came time to pay the bill, our waiter from hell approached our table and recounted how he had just been chewed out by someone waiting for our table, complaining that we were taking too long to finish our meal!! He joked that he would be sure to sit them at the "sh-tty table" for their complaints!! I would NOT ever return to this place nor can I recommend this "tasting room". I will be contacting the manager in private to voice my concerns of the service and the unsanitary conditions of serving food in direct path of bird excrement and dog saliva. This place is totally unacceptable.
