This grocery chain offers a wide selection, although prices can be a bit higher than other options in the area. The prepared foods section is a standout feature, with fresh and delicious options available. The store tends to get busy on weekends, but the quality of the products makes it worth the visit.

Big Y in Rocky Hill does not have self checkout scales, their computer systems don't prompt you to place your items on the table nor is there a sign to do so. However, today just as I was about to pay, I was told to take all the items I had already scanned in my cart out of my basket, place them on the table, pay and then put them back in my basket. When I asked why, I was told because it's Big Y's policy. Shouldn't I have been told the policy that wasn't clearly displayed and then asked to follow it in the future instead of some power trip to have me perform a point task as some kind of punishment? I will not return to any Big Y in the future.
